Vengeance

The Breton Horse Warriors series - Book Five

Vengeance

It is 1086, and Morvan De Malvais, the banished leader of the Horse Warriors, is finally returning to Ghent after years of fighting in Scotland and England. He longs to meet Conn, the seven-year-old son he has never seen. However, he finds that Warrior Monks have kidnapped the boy on the orders of the Pope. Dark, powerful forces want to use the child, as a pawn for their political gain, for this child is also the grandson of King William.

Morvan’s brother Luc De Malvais, and Chatillon, a Papal Envoy, have been secretly searching for the child for years. Now they tell Morvan the painful truth: they might never find young Conn; he is so well hidden.

An angry Morvan arrives in Normandy to find Queen Matilda is dead, and King William is losing his grip on the Anglo-Norman kingdoms he has ruled since 1066. William’s son, Robert, is in league with Philip the King of France to defeat his father, and the odds are stacked against the Norman Conqueror. Morvan must now support the King against his friend and comrade Robert Curthose.

Finally, they discover that Conn is being held in captivity in a large Hermitage in the Italian Alps. Luc De Malvais, Morvan and their mentor Sir Gerard set out on an impossible task to rescue him from a seemingly inaccessible stronghold held by dozens of ferocious Warrior Monks. Not all of our heroes will return….
